‘Gorilla Glue Girl’ sticks it to us with more talk about her hair failure – only now is she doing it with a beat and she’s recorded it … especially without assist from Nicki Minaj.
Tessica Brown publishes her very own track and remixes excerpts from her original viral TikTok video with additional lyrics she raps. It’s called “Ma Hair” and we’re told it’s coming out on Friday.
TB’s leader, Gina rodriguez, says Tessica recorded it in Hollywood last month, and the song was put together by an independent music producer / engineer Phil Valley. Apparently Tessica wrote this jam all by herself … and it’s the first time she’s ever rapped.
As for * why * she’s bringing us all back to February – when this whole sad incident went down first – well, we’re told that Tessica would simply regain her voice for her own purposes and thought this would be a nice way to do it.
As you may know (and may have heard) … a lot of remixes have been made over the last many months, which contain sound from Tess’ OG clips – but she did not approve any of them.
Here’s the kicker to it all … Tessica and her team actually reached out to Nicki Minaj’s camp in hopes of getting her on the field. Of course NM shouted ‘Gorilla Glue Girl’ in her latest song, “Fractions.”
After name-drop, as GGG and co. beloved, they figured Nicki might want to cooperate … but Rodriguez says they never heard back from her.
It’s all good … Tessica is ready to defy the music world’s solo, and “Ma Hair” will be streaming everywhere this weekend.
