The Manchester City duo will miss training ahead of this weekend’s clash with Everton

Key Man City pair absent from training ahead of Everton

De Bruyne and Grealish MIA before this weekend’s match

Manchester City are in full swing with their preparations for a weekend clash with Everton at the Etihad on Saturday, but the status of star duo Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish is still unclear.

None of the players were pictured in a training video taken earlier today as Pep Guardiola put his Citizens clothes through before toffees arrive in town, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Summer signing Jack Grealish had returned to the club early for injury assessment and subsequently missed England’s 10-0 defeat to minnows San Marino on Monday night.

As for the creative focal point, Kevin De Bruyne, the Belgian star also failed to appear in the training video, which raised doubts about the key pair’s fitness and availability, while City look to the coincidences down the table with Chelsea taking on Leicester City at the king. Power Stadium in Saturday’s lunch showdown.

Double fitness boost received by Manchester City

Although the status around Manchester City stars Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish remains unclear, both Bernardo Silva and Cole Palmer are both in good shape and available for selection ahead of the weekend, after the couple themselves have suffered from their fitness fears.

City star Cole Palmer was taken out of England’s U21 squad against the Czech Republic and also missed the following friendly against Georgia, while Bernardo Silva was absent from Ireland due to muscle complaints, as mentioned earlier in the international break.

Their availability is certainly timely given the concerns surrounding De Bruyne and Grealish, but City should still be considered comfortable favorites this weekend against an out-of-shape Everton outfit who have failed to win in their last five Premier League matches.
