West Croydon ‘sticks’: Teenage boy dies as station area is cordoned off

A teenage boy died after a fatal stabbing in Croydon tonight (November 18).

Police were called to London Road in West Croydon at 6.41pm to report a fight among a group of people.

Officers attended, but found no suspects or victims.

A crime scene was located outside West Croydon Station, and at 7:08 p.m., police were called to a hospital in south London after a teenage boy himself showed up at the hospital with stab wounds.

Despite the best efforts of the doctors at the hospital, the boy died shortly afterwards.

His relatives have been notified.

An autopsy will be performed later.

Homicide detectives from the Mets Specialist Crime Command have been notified.

A Section 60 order giving police powers to stop and search has been introduced in the Broad Green, Fairfield, Waddon, West Thornton, Bensham Manor, Selhurst and Addiscombe West areas until 1 p.m. 10.35 on 10 November.

Inquiries are ongoing.
