NSW and Victoria record falls in COVID-19 cases

Five people died with the virus.

There are currently 9581 active cases in the state.

Victoria has almost reached the point where 90 percent of residents over the age of 12 have been fully vaccinated.

There are 312 people in the hospital and 55 in the intensive care unit.

The small drop in cases comes when the state registered 1273 infections yesterday.

No deaths were reported overnight.

There are currently 191 people in the hospital and 28 in the intensive care unit.

It happens when the state has almost reached the point where 95 percent of residents over the age of 16 are fully vaccinated.

More than 80 percent of 12- to 15-year-olds in NSW are also fully vaccinated.
