Dubai Culture and Arts Authority “Dubai Culture” has brought theatrical art back to the real scene with the launch of the 2021 edition of the “Dubai Festival for Youth Theater” at the “Theater for All” theater in the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai.
Which continues until November 25. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, Executive Director of the Arts and Letters Sector of Dubai Culture, and Fatima Al Jallaf, Acting Director of the Performing Arts Department at the Authority, along with Emirati and resident artists, and a large number of media professionals, interested and theater lovers.
The opening ceremony began with the national anthem followed by the word “Dubai Culture”, where Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash emphasized the festival’s special taste this year, as it coincided with the country’s celebration of its fiftieth anniversary, and to restore its presence in cinemas again.
He said: “It is no more beautiful than the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and its audience today celebrating the opening of this new edition of the festival that we have been waiting for and we are only two weeks away from the start of our celebration of the golden anniversary of the founding of the United Arab Emirates on December 2, 2021.
With feelings of joy and pride, we open new doors for every creator, artist and intellectual to contribute their thoughts and noble message to inspire the sons and daughters of the nation to follow in the footsteps of our founders and our wise leadership, carrying the torch to to achieve more impressive results over the next fifty years, and for the name of the United Arab Emirates to remain high and proud. “
Kharbash added: “On this day, our meeting with our audience is renewed with a unique version of the Dubai Festival for Youth Theater. At the level of the emirate’s ambitions and theatrical energies, as well as our audience’s aspirations from all walks of life of theater work, and through its encouragement and follow-up, our talents shine and innovate. ”
And Kharbash added: “Over the course of an entire week, this session will witness the discovery of new talents and the creation of past talents, for everyone to compete to present shows that are characterized by originality and creativity in terms of content and instruction, and all the elements of theatrical work and bring joy to the hearts of theater lovers, emirates and residents. “
During the opening ceremony, the names of the jury were announced, led by Walid Al Jallaf Al Zaabi and the membership of artist Ali Jamal Mohamed Ahmed Youssef and artist Ibrahim Salem Al-Bairaq. The members of the committee were chosen by the festival’s organizing committee because of its long experience in this field.
Continuation of the festival
For her part, Fatima Al Jallaf expressed her pride in launching this version of the festival to restore communication between the audience and the artists on stage, and stressed that the continuation of the festival in recent years, which reached its twelfth edition this year, reflects its success in stimulating the energy and creativity of young people, doubling their positive fruits of the festival in each version of it. Al Jallaf reiterated Dubai Culture’s commitment to supporting local theater talents from the UAE and the region and improving the incubating environment for their creativity in order to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global center of culture, an incubator for creativity and a forum for talent. . The opening ceremony included the first theatrical performance entitled “Salem’s feminine ribs” by the Dibba Al-Hisn Society for Culture, Arts and Theater; It was written by the young Emirati artist Abeer Al-Jamsi and directed by the growing actor and director Mohamed Juma Ali.
