Stars from Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike Live got more than they expected after their rehearsals were hit by WWE stars Pretty Deadly.
The West End smash has amazed audiences at London’s Hippodrome with a grueling array of shows.
During a busy training session before a performance, however, the dancers were greeted by the British wrestling villains Pretty Deadly.
The duo, consisting of Lewis Howley and Sam Stoker, are the reigning tag team champions of WWE’s NXT UK brand, presenting their weekly TV shows across London at BT Sport Studios.
Pretty Deadly has been holding their gold since February and proudly presents itself as one of wrestling’s most annoying and arrogant acts.
When they swapped the square circle of WWE out with the boards in London, however, they seemed to have bitten off more than they could chew after promising to conquer the world of theater.
In their honor, Howley and Stoker gave the exercises a good ride after following along and apparently deciding they could give it a whirl.
Later, they even tried to learn the show’s incredible finale, though they gave it their own unique flavor with some WWE-inspired moves.
While unlikely to soon swap their coveted NXT UK titles for a life in the West End, their efforts were apparently enough to impress the show’s choreographer, Ross Sands.
“I was interested to see how they would adapt to not landing heavily and moving smoothly and easily,” Sands told BT Sport.
“It’s interesting; they’ve already gained confidence, let’s face it! If you put the movements on stage, the rest will happen.”
Watch NXT UK every Thursday at 20.00 on WWE Network, repeated Friday at. 22.00 at BT Sport. Tickets for Magic Mike Live London are also available online.
