Toddler critical after being pulled from Crown Melbourne hotel pool

A young child fights for his life after being pulled from a swimming pool at a Crown hotel in Southbank.

Emergency services were called to the hotel complex in Whiteman Street after a two-year-old boy was spotted without responding in the pool around 10pm on Friday.

The young child was treated on the spot by ambulance people and taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

On Saturday, a spokeswoman from the hospital said the toddler was in a critical condition.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Crown assists with all investigations.

“Crown is sorry to confirm that this tragic incident occurred on our premises,” a statement said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, and out of respect for them, no further comment will be made.”
