East Harlem police say a 16-year-old boy was killed shot outside a residential complex Saturday afternoon.
Jamere Chapman was shot down around noon. 15.00 in front of the Wagner houses on East 124th Street, the NYPD announced on Sunday. Police say the boy lives a few blocks from the complex.
Police responding to the NYCHA housing complex found the teenager with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
EMS transported Chapman to Harlem Hospital, but his injury proved fatal.
A police spokesman said the shooting was not accidental but suspicious information has not been released to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.
