Webes Nex.Life fiber and mobile service shuts down

Just a little more than 14 months in operation, Nex.Life shuts down. This is a non-frills fiber broadband + mobile internet service managed by TM’s subsidiary, Webe Digital.

As highlighted by one of ours readers, customers have been notified that Nex.Life will end its service on June 30, 2020. To ensure continued connectivity, existing users will be offered to switch to Unifi with a special introductory offer.

Nex.Life users can get a 30 Mbps Unifi home fiber broadband with Unifi Media Box for RM99 / month. Subscribers can also choose their preferred package (Varnam +, Aneka + or Ruby +) for the Unifi TV service. As a special offer, the first 6 months will be offered free of charge and it is only valid until May 20, 2020. Unfortunately, there is no mention of alternatives to the mobile internet line.

According to the announcement, Nex.Life will reach out to its customers to follow up on the next action. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, it is mentioned that Unifi installations will be arranged after the cancellation of the motion control order.

Web Digital Nex.Life

To sum up, Nex.Life was launched with a single service that provides unlimited 20 Mbps fiber broadband plus a SIM card that provides unlimited data on 4G for only RM100 per. month. There are no voice calls and you will need to purchase your own wireless router for the plan. While most fiber broadband services are tied to a 24-month contract, the Nex.Life period is much shorter at just 12 months.

A few months later, Nex.Life had upgraded its fiber broadband speed to 30 Mbps. The service uses TM’s HSBB network and was originally introduced in restricted areas of Kelantan and Terengganu. Eventually, it expanded to more places in western Malaysia.

Thanks @FadliSaad for the tip!
