I look exactly like Scarlett Johansson – but it makes me cry

No, “the black widow” is not in Russia – it’s just her double.

A Russian TikToker, who looks eerie like Marvel actress Scarlett Johansson, said she “wants her own life” after being repeatedly mistaken for the actress.

“There are people on the Internet who confuse me with Scarlett, but I’m not pretending to be her,” 24-year-old Ekaterina Shumskaya, who walks past Kate, told Caters News. “We just look alike.”

However, she has 10.2 million TikTok followers, and sometimes some of them are tricked into thinking that she is actually the acclaimed actress.

“On social media, I’m often thanked for the excellent participation in the film ‘Black Widow,'” she told Caters.

“My followers always ask if I’ve ever talked to her, or if Scarlett knows if I exist,” she told the Mirror.

Now, due to her compelling appearance, she has been able to make a mint as a model and moved from her hometown of Maykop to Moscow earlier this year.

She first learned that she shared similar traits as the actress when she went to school as a 12-year-old when some classmates came up with comments about her eerie resemblance.

“I was really surprised,” she said. “I’ve known I look like her for a while, but I did not really think about it.”

While it may seem like an ideal life, she argued that it is not as easy as it seems – lookalike modeling can be rare.

She also carries the bulk of some backlash that the real Johansson, 37, is facing due to her double appearance. When the actress was accused of laundering an Asian character in “Ghost in the Shell”, Shumskaya received some of the hate mail, some even went so far as to threaten to “kill her”.

“I want to live my own life, not Scarlet’s,” she said according to the Mirror, despite dressing up as the “Avengers” star for TikTok videos.

But her surprising lookalike trait is what makes her a living – earning enough to support herself and her parents – after reaping views and following on her first cosplay TikTok under the popular Russian hashtag #whodoilooklike, she said .

Before her transition to modeling and content creation, she brought in $ 700 a month, which worried her parents when she said she would pursue modeling work.

“I started getting enough of my work and thought it did not provide the income I felt I deserved,” she said of her previous job as a construction sales manager. “I woke up one morning thinking, ‘My youth is passing me by, and no one will even notice me soon’.”

But this is not Shumskaya’s only attempt at modeling. She first tried it as a 17-year-old and became “quite popular” in her region of Russia, but was put off by the negative comments and messages she received online.

To really make it big, the model said she had to move out of Russia to get a career as a cosplayer, but she’s still making an attempt.

Once, her followers encouraged her to go to the Moscow premiere of “Black Widow” dressed as Johansson, but she seems to be able to convince someone that she was the star of the film.

“I undressed and walked down to the center of town with a photographer, but no one came out to see me,” said Shumskaya, who reportedly cried over his anonymity, according to the Mirror. “People just looked at me like I was a weirdo.”
