Sydney’s CBD will host a long lunch next month on a scale the city has never seen before.
On December 3, guests head to George Street to experience the very best in food and beverage under George St. Long Lunch Spectacular.
“We feel this is the lunch party that Sydney deserves after all these months of lockdown,” said Barry Wafer of Rizer, one of the organizers of the event.
“We know people are excited to get back to the city, and … we have all missed the liveliness and splendor of its restaurants and bars.”
A 600-person party will be held on George Street outside the Hilton, with the joint lunch with Palisa Anderson (Chat Thai); Michael Nicolian (Continental Deli); Mike McEnearney (Kitchen of Mike) and Luke Mangan (Glass Brasserie) merge.
Anderson will make canapés to kick-start a three-course meal with canapés, including tempura eggplant with tamarind palm sugar caramel and grilled pork skewers.
Nicolian will take care of the main course, which will see charcuterie plates with meat from LP’s Quality Meats and pickled vegetable barigoule with Romesco sauce.
McEnearney will prepare his signature fried chicken for main course along with baked pumpkin before tying the meal off on a sweet note with Mangan’s dessert of summer berries with soft meringue, lemon and cream.
Diners are also ready to enjoy drinks covering gin and tonic, Heaps Normal non-alcoholic beer, Philter Brewing’s XPA and wines from New South Wales.
Tickets are now on sale for the event, which runs from 12-15.
