Jamie Carragher has told Mauricio Pochettino to ‘get out’ of Paris Saint-Germain as quickly as possible and bite off Manchester United’s hand if they come and call for him.

Pochettino’s PSG squad was beaten 2-1 by Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night, with Kylian Mbappe opening the scoring before goals from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus gave City the victory.

The French team put their superstar front three by Lionel Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, but Carragher was left completely unimpressed by the trio.

The Liverpool legend even said that it was these three big names who were to leave Pochettino looking for the front door at PSG and hoping the Red Devils make a move for him.

“Pochettino has to get out of the club,” Carragher told Paramount Plus. ‘If he has the chance to go to Manchester United, I would be gone tomorrow, I honestly would, and that’s because of the three stars.’

Carragher was furious at the attitude and speed of work of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, believing that a team simply cannot operate at the elite level while transporting passengers when they do not have the ball.

‘The [PSG] carrying three, they have absolutely no chance of winning the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain, absolutely no chance, “he said.

‘I get frustrated seeing it because I have Mbappe more than anyone else. I can almost understand Messi to some extent, he is 34, he has to save himself in certain moments, I still do not think they can carry him, let’s not forget that Barcelona have not won a Champions League in a long time.

‘But Mbappe is 22, he should sprint back and come back and help his teammates against a top team from Man City. This about walking around the track, it’s nothing for me.

‘I just can not accept, I do not care how good they are that they do not work for the team. The days of transporting passengers are long gone. ‘
