Outlander author Diana Gabaldon teases that Book 10 may not be her last, as characters ‘are not ready to die’

Outlander author Diana Gabaldon attended a Random House live event to promote her new book Go Tell The Bees I Am Gone, and spilled some major tea.

Over 10,000 fans of the best-selling series logged on to the event when Gabaldon teased that her tenth novel in the series might not be her last.

Gabaldon told fans: “It depends on Jamie and Claire. If they are not ready to die yet, I think I’ll have to keep going.”

She also discussed the much-anticipated season 6 of Outlander, revealing to fans that she has seen the entire season, which was interrupted due to the pandemic, but called it the “best yet”.

For fans coming back for next season, she revealed that the Christie family will play a big role in it by cryptically saying, “They will hate the right person and they will have sympathy for the right person.”

She shared her favorite moments from the new season, saying, “One is put in flashbacks in Ardsmuir Prison, and it has to do with Jamie and Tom Christie. Another is with Tom Christie and Claire in her surgery.”

When discussing future plans with the series, she said, “I have another Lord John novel in mind, it just popped out of nowhere, so I quickly wrote the synopsis down for it. I’m waiting for the right moment. [to write it]. However, I also have a contract for a novel about Jamie Fraser’s parents Brian and Ellen. ”

Outlander season 6 airs March 6, 2022.
