On Friday, Home Secretary Gérald Darmanin withdrew the invitation to his British counterpart Priti Patel for the meeting scheduled for Sunday on the migrant portfolio.
“We consider the British Prime Minister’s public letter to be unacceptable and contrary to our discussions between counterparties. Therefore, Priti Patel is no longer invited to the inter-ministerial meeting on Sunday, which is being held in the format: France / Belgium / Netherlands / Germany / European Commission commented one in entourage by Gérald Darmanin.
Emmanuel Macron indicated that dialogue with the United Kingdom on the issue of migration could be resumed “if they decide to be serious”.
