Frac exhibition at Saint-Pierre – Saint-Paul High School Gallery

For this year’s second event in the gallery at the Saint-Pierre – Saint-Paul school complex, last year’s students in the plastic arts specialty are again responsible for curating the exhibition.

Still in collaboration with Frac OM (Regional Contemporary Art Fund Occitanie Montpellier), they made a selection of works with the theme of fragmentation, a theme they were to deal with in the visual arts in the first period.

This opportunity to take advantage of loans of works by artists recognized and collected by the region is part of a larger project, as students regularly travel to Montpellier on Frac’s premises to visit the reserves and exhibitions in lessons with their teachers.

On this occasion, the works are collected for hanging which is made available by a teacher, previously employed in the institution.

Student organizers

As commissioners, students propose a hanging order and participate in the installation of the paintings, photographs, sculptures, and videos. Likewise, on the opening day, they give the keys to each work to visitors.

Last Wednesday, for the second time in two years, they gave life to a special moment for them. In front of an audience of local officials, teachers and students, they were able to present the results of Jean-Adrien Arzilier, Laurette Atrux-Tallau, Denis Brihat, Jeanne Dunning, Yohann Gozard, Richard Nicolas, Laurina Paperina, Patrick Tosani and Mike Wodkowski, which they could relate to their introductory theme.

Parts of objects, reframing, repetitions of modules and fragments of drawings… answered the concerns of commissioner apprentices whom they knew how to share during this opening.

The exhibition is available to schools and the public by appointment by contacting the institution on 04 66 69 25 07.
