United appoint Ralf Rangnick interim manager
United have reached an agreement to appoint Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager following the firing of Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
Rangnick has agreed a six-month deal to manage United until the end of May, before taking on a consulting role at the club for an initial two-year term. It is understood that Rangnick has also been offered a role at United for next season.
It is understood that the 63-year-old rejected an initial contract offer from United, but agreed to become the club’s interim manager after receiving new terms and accepting them.
United announced that they intend to hire a temporary manager until the end of the season, after parting ways with Solskjær last weekend with Rangnick identified as the leading candidate after a negotiation process.
