With Thanksgiving officially over, let the holiday celebrations begin! Below are all the festive light shows and holiday events you need this season in DC, Maryland and Virginia.

Washington DC

Enchant Christmas in Nationals Park
November 26 to January 2

For the first time since 2019, a massive bright maze and the village of Enchant Christmas are returning to the National Park. Say “hello” to Santa, or put on some skates to see the unique light screen. Tickets start at $ 29.

This free Navy Yard light fixture features 22-foot-tall light trees and a field filled with interactive light circles that respond when you step on them.

Pathway of Peace in the White House
December 4 to January 1 at 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
White House Ellipse

The Pathway of Peace will once again open at the White House Ellipse with over “50 state and territory trees decorated with ornaments designed by students that are unique to each tree.” The path leads to the National Christmas Tree, where the lights are turned on every night at sunset.

National Menorah Lighting

Celebrate the beginning of Hanukkah with music, partying and lighting of the menorah at this free event (registration required).

Skulpturhaven Skating rink

Maxwell Park Navy Yard

The popular wine bar Maxwell Park offers this year the Christmas theme, complete with ornaments, wreaths and sugar cane huts. Seats at the pop-up, designed by the woman behind Baltimore’s Miracle on Seventh Street, are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are required for the candy cane greenhouses outside.

The Wharf Holiday Boat Parade

Spend a night at the Wharf and watch more than 45 boats covered in holiday lights sail down the Potomac River. Kl. 20th catch a fireworks finale. This event is free to attend.

Holidays in the American Botanical Gardens

Zoo Lights and Maryland Zoo

As the District’s National Zoo canceled holiday lights this year, head to Baltimore to experience over 100,000 lights arranged in festive exhibits. Ticket prices vary by activity.

I love Christmas movies ™

Go through re-enactments of scenes from iconic Christmas movies at Gaylord National. Tickets start at $ 33. Other resort facilities at the hotel include ice skating, ice tubing and ice bumper cars.

Just in time for the holidays, this amusement park transforms into a holiday experience for all, complete with a 300 foot tree, ice rink and lights galore. Tickets for Winterfest start at $ 32, but you can skate for only $ 15.
