The work of the “Sharjah Executive” government to develop and reduce plastic waste is discussed

Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, chaired the Council meeting, which was held at the office of His Highness the Ruler.

In its meeting, the Council discussed various initiatives on the agenda with the development of government work and to reduce plastic waste and support small and medium enterprises, to improve the environment sector and support the economic growth of the emirate.

The Council issued a decision to promote Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi to the rank of “Department Director” under the Sharjah Government’s Special Job System, and he will be appointed Director of the Human Resources Department of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The Council decided to transfer the engineer Dr. Rashid Nasser Khalifa Abu Shabas Al Ali to the Sharjah Private Education Authority at the same job level, and he will be appointed as the Director of the Information Technology Department of the Authority.

The Council issued a decision on violations and administrative penalties for violating the Executive Council’s decision on the use of single-use bags and plastic materials in the Emirate of Sharjah.

After reviewing the report on the results of the work of the second strategic plan at the previous meeting, the Council approved the new strategic plan to follow up the Emirate of Sharjah’s participation in the Age-Friendly City of Global Network for the year. 2024-2026, which is one of the requirements for continued membership in the network, which helps launch initiatives and activities to improve services offered to seniors.

The Council also approved the exemption of half of the government fees for the fourth and fifth years of the projects supported by the Sharjah Foundation to support entrepreneurial projects “Ruwad” for a period of two years. The number of projects benefiting from the exemption reached 54 projects of various economic activities distributed in various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, in support of the Council for young entrepreneurs and to promote their economic activity.
