The Dubai Chamber of Commerce revealed its most notable results in the first half of 2024, achieving a number of achievements that advance Dubai’s path towards sustainable development and help achieve the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce added 34.75 new companies to its membership in the first half of this year, a growth rate of 5% compared to the same period last year, reflecting the dynamism of the emirate’s business environment. high competitiveness to attract foreign direct investment.

The value of members’ exports and re-exports was 145.9 billion dirhams in the first half, an increase of 6.7% compared to the same period last year. During this period, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce issued 372,720 certificates of origin, an increase of 5.2% over the same period last year, while the Chamber issued temporary entry books for 2,433 goods, with a value of about 1.6 billion dirhams.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with business groups, reviewed 122 laws and bills in the first half of this year, with an adoption rate of 54.9%, and 100 meetings were held with business groups and councils. He also coordinated the organization of 29 meetings simultaneously bringing together business groups and councils with relevant government institutions and departments. In the first semester, the Chamber created six new business councils, representing the nationalities of investors from Costa Rica, Greece, Poland, Mexico, Colombia and Kazakhstan.

As part of efforts to improve awareness of laws and legislation, in the first half of this year, the Chamber organized 20 events on the emirate’s legislative system, attended by 1,500 participants.

The chamber also received 79 mediation cases, compared to the 75 mediation cases it received in the same period last year, a growth rate of 5.3%.

Dubai Family Business Center

The Dubai Family Business Center, which operates under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, continued its journey to support the sustainability, competitiveness and continuity of family businesses by organizing two awareness-raising events on the role and function of governance as part of the Governance Series. In the sustainability of women’s family businesses, the first batch of the Rising Generation Training Program was also prepared by members of family businesses, and there were 136 representatives of family businesses in the three events.

The Center also completed the first session of the Family Business Management Program in Dubai, with the participation of 31 family business members, and nine consultants obtained certifications under the Center’s consultant accreditation and certification program.

Dubai Family Business Center issued two guidelines “Family Business Memorandum of Association” and “Corporate Governance for Family Businesses”.
