On its first day, the event saw a large turnout of palm tree owners and farmers from the Emirate of Sharjah and various emirates across the country to participate in the festival’s main competitions, where valuable prizes were awarded to 130 winners.
Abdullah Sultan Al Owais emphasized that the Al Dhaid Dates Festival has demonstrated its leadership position on the map of important national and regional economic and heritage events, due to the willingness to provide all aspects of wise leadership directives and support. and taking care of events and festivals that are closely related to the protection of the environment and have an important role in promoting… Sustainable agricultural development, supporting farmers and taking care of the palm tree, which is considered an essential part of the environment of the UAE and its true heritage. , noting that the festival is one of the initiatives of the Sharjah Chamber, through which Al Dhaid seeks to strengthen its position in the agricultural wealth sector and strengthen its position in the field of palm, which is famous for the diversity and quality of its varieties.
