The Liwa Dates Festival celebrates the date season and promotes palm products and the heritage of the UAE through 197 pavilions, corners and shops organized by the twentieth session, held in the city of Liwa in the Al Dhafra region, under the patronage of His Highness the Sheikh. Organized by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Presidency, and the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.
The coffee cup and dallah scene dominates every part of the festival, as visitors find it along with the date plates offered to visitors to welcome festival guests and visitors, and a reflection of Emirati hospitality and kindness. the meanings of welcome, respect and appreciation that it brings.
This scene is in most places, and they are distributed in 56 shops selling dates and dates, 21 pavilions for public and private organizations, 98 shops for productive families in the popular market, 12 corners for artisans, women’s modesty corner and burqa lending workshop in the Emirati women’s identity pavilion, with a heritage sculpture exhibition plus date and fruit auction location, theater and children’s village corners.
Through the competitions at the festival, visitors get to know the types of dates and summer fruits grown in the Emirates, as the elite date competitions saw more than 100 unrefined varieties, and the fruits displayed at the Dar Fruit Basket competition were diverse, recording dozens of varieties. the festival includes the works of competitors from different regions of the country.
There are many types and varieties of Emirates dates including: early ripening such as nagal and ghar, known as advanced, followed by khashkar, then yardi, and mid-season ripening varieties and those with the best varieties, among others. : Al-Khunaizi, Bu Maan, Khalas, Shishi, Sukkari, Al-Saqi, Al-Zamili, Umm Al-Dahn, Al-Dabas and Al-Fard, and there are other types called late, which ripens at the end of summer The most important of them: Al-Fard, Al-Barhi, Al-Shahl and Al-Hilali.

It was woven and arranged in an amazing geometric way to produce fables, mujba, narratives, mats and mahfa, besides making ropes from palm fiber, building trees, many uses and products produced from the palm tree, including its fruits. and food products related to it.
