Under the patronage and presence of Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense organized an event yesterday, Tuesday, in Abu Dhabi, entitled “Physical Readiness Centers…”. Ten Years of Achievements” to highlight the achievements of Physical Training Centers.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, World Health Organization Regional Director for the Middle East, Dr. Hanan Balkhi received his thanks. The tireless effort to support and establish military physical training centers and their role in promoting the health of individuals and society.

The event began with a short video on the importance of fitness centers in increasing the fitness and health of members, followed by a speech by Brigadier General Obaid Ali Al Mansouri, Head of the Executive Department of Education and Training, UAE Army. The force, in which he praised the interest and follow-up of the World Health Organization, who contributed to the success and development of these centers for his interest in health and prevention, which has great support in the UAE, because the leadership placed community health at the top of national priorities and included it in its important strategies and plans because he had, based on the view that says that man is the goal. and the main focus of development is to improve the health and quality of life of the members of the community as a fundamental basis for carrying out its development process.

The event was addressed by Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al-Rand, Deputy Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector at the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, who thanked the Ministry of Defense for its commitment, tireless efforts and desire to improve the health of recruits, which reflects the health of society as a whole.

For his part, Dr. Hanan Balkhi, Regional Director of the World Health Organization for the Middle East, praised the role of physical fitness centers in improving the health of individuals and society, saying: “Physical fitness centers follow a comprehensive health approach and play a key role in promoting health not only for civil servants and for the needy, as well as for their families and the whole community. In addition, these centers offer various services, including the provision of psychological support and healthy behaviors, such as physical activity and proper nutrition that the training centers were established, by the decision of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “may God have mercy on them” and that they were able to provide their services to more than 89 thousand people (as well).
