His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, issued the decision to form the “Smart Autonomous Systems Council” of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the aim of improving a supportive, stimulating and attractive environment for the development and use of intelligent self-propelled systems in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Council members include Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Muhammad Ali Al Shurafa Al Hammadi, Ahmed Jassim Yousef Al Zaabi, Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Maryam Eid Khamis Al Muhairi and Sultan Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri.
Among the most prominent powers and tasks of the council of intelligent autonomous systems are to propose and develop a comprehensive and integrated strategy for the development and use of intelligent systems, to carry out activities related to them and to ensure safe operation in accordance with best practices, in a coordinated manner. with all stakeholders, and working to attract investment in these areas, which helps consolidate the emirate’s position as a leading and distinctive global destination in this area.
Likewise, the Council oversees the development of plans related to supporting and encouraging activities related to intelligent self-propelled systems, developing plans to prepare the necessary infrastructure for their development and use and monitoring their implementation, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The powers of the Council also include proposing incentives, initiatives and projects necessary to achieve its goals, proposing legislation, carrying out research and development studies related to its field of work, forming groups that support the work of the Council, including experts, consultants and technicians, and the relevant coordinate with federal authorities.
