The organizing committee of the Liwa Dates Festival crowned the winners of the mango competition in the “local and variety” categories during the 20th edition of the festival held in Liwa city of Al Dhafra region.
33 farmers from different regions of the country participated in the competition, and the results of the local mango category Ahmed Muhammad Muhammad Ali Al Rumaithi won the first place, Munira Ali Khamis Al Nuaimi won the second place, Saeed Ali Obaid Al Hafiti entered. in third place, and Afra Saif placed fourth in Saqr Al Mansouri, and in fifth place Salem Hazim Khalfan Al Mansouri.
In the mango variety category, Hilal Muhammad Hilal bin Tarraf Al Mansouri won first place, second place was taken by Muhammad Hamad Saeed Hamad Al Kalbani, third place was taken by Saeed Mubarak Fadel Saeed Al Mazrouei, fourth place was taken by Fatima Khamis Al Fandi. Al Mazrouei, and in fifth place was Ali Ateeq Muhammad Atshan Al Hamli.
The organizing committee distributed 10 prizes for the winners of each category for a total of 234 thousand dirhams, where the first winner 25 thousand dirhams, the second 20 thousand and the third 15 thousand.
Yesterday morning, the festival received entries for the “Al-Dar Fruit Basket” competition, where farmers participate in the local production of this year’s summer fruits from their farms or home gardens.
