His Excellency, Hamid Al Zaabi, Director General of the Executive Office for Combating Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, welcomed Elisa de Anda to assume the presidency of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) from July 2024 to June 2026.

Elisa De Anda began her duties as president of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for a presidential term that runs until June 2026, after being elected by the group’s General Assembly last February.

Elisa has a decade of experience in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, and is currently a member of the Mexican Treasury and Public Credit Secretariat.

Elissa held the position of Vice-Chair of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for three years until last year, where she led important initiatives and represented the organization globally, working with regional and international organizations.

Prior to assuming international positions, Elisa worked for the Mexican government, where she served as Attaché to the Mexican Embassy in Washington, DC, focusing her efforts on strengthening bilateral relations with the United States on anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing issues and related formulation. policies
