Al Hashemi pointed out that the UAE received 709 patients from the Gaza Strip, in addition to 787 members of their families, to receive medical care in state hospitals, according to the orders of the President of the Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to treat 2,000 wounded. and List cancer patients.

He added: “This expansion of the scope of the UAE’s efforts reflects our solidarity with the Palestinian people to alleviate their suffering and ensure the delivery of aid on a large scale in an urgent, sustained and unhindered manner. The UAE also reaffirms its willingness and commitment to cooperate with international partners, who need the most assistance to make sure it reaches those who have it.

For his part, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, said: “We are grateful to the UAE for its role in evacuating the sick and wounded from the Gaza Strip, we also hope that this initiative will pave the way for the establishment of evacuation corridors to help them receive the urgent care they need, including , the crossing of Jordan and Rafah by Kerem Abu Salem, and from there the resumption of evacuations to other countries including the Bank, East Jerusalem, where thousands of patients are suffering and most importantly, as always the World Health Organization called for a ceasefire.

It is worth noting that the UAE provided more than 40,000 tons of urgent aid to the Gaza Strip, including food, relief and medical supplies, through 8 ships, 337 flights, 50 airdrops and 1,271 trucks.

A few days ago, the fourth aid ship of the UAE arrived at a port Arishcarrying the eighth shipment of aid, carrying 5,340 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, the heaviest since the start of relief operations in the Strip.
