Dearborn, Michigan Mayor Abdullah Hammoud – home to large Arab and Muslim communities – has renewed his call for a “non-committal” vote in the state’s Democratic presidential election, in response to Biden’s support for Israel’s war on Gaza.

Hammoud pointed out that a foreign funding bill backed by the White House and approved by the Senate would give Israel $14 billion, mostly paying for military aid.

“$9 out of $10 for bombs. $1 in $10 for humanitarian aid,” the mayor wrote in a social media post. “No change in policy. No endless wars. No excuses. On February 27th, vote ‘no compromise’ in Michigan’s presidential primary.”

Hammoud’s remarks came in response to Biden citing humanitarian aid to the Palestinians to promote the legislation.
